these new pleine air paintings were all painted at n. crestone creek. the dates can be found on the lower right corner of each one.
clearly, they have been affected, both in color and composition by the large studio abstractions, which in turn have been influenced by the previous, 2012, group of pleine air.
in general, one could say in the 2012 pleine air, earth tones dominate, whereas here, my palette has considerably brightened and the compositions have moved out to the edges of the canvas.
