9/17/13 a new painting: gonglin creek 72x38" / by Philip Tarlow

following a trip to vail, aspen and heavily flooded denver, i am happy to be back at work in my studio. this one is named after li gonglin (1041-1106),  song dynasty artist who believed that painting was:

" not just a record of sensory experience but also a reflection of the artist's mind, a revelation of his personality, and an expression of deeply held values."
