morning staircase reflection / what's next?? / by Philip Tarlow

12:18 pm: i found more images from photos i shot at the acropolis museum in 2009. they are in the same series as the one i used for parade 48. they turn me on, which as tsarouchis (go to my story page in the menu bar for details of who tsarouchis was) once explained to me, is the key to maintaining the emotional energy required in order to see painting all the way through from conception to completion. so i feel like i'm on track to begin preparing the portrait linen for the drawing, stretching the canvas and starting to paint....if i'm swift...tomorrow morning!

7:25 am: i need to order some batteries for my bedside flashlight, so i'm experiencing my first wave of amazon withdrawal (see yesterday's post). rather than simply hitting the "one click" button, i'm having to actually search for the best price, fill in my shipping info, etc. but i have no regrets. their response to my email stating the reasons i am canceling my amazon prime membeship was, of course, a form letter, with no acknowledgement of my critique of their cruel employee practices.

as we sat on the staircase this morning putting on our hiking boots i shot these photos of a reflection in our north facing window. behind us, some of the parade series paintings hanging on our walls, soon to be shipped to houston.

when i go to my studio in a few hours, i'll research what images i'll use for my next 2 paintings in the parade series, which will each be 56"x35."
