"ΟΧΙ" (nΟ) vote in landslide victory for democracy in greece / drawing for parade 47/ wrist prison! / by Philip Tarlow

6:10 pm: yesterday i left the watch i chose to wear that day in the kitchen, where i had taken it off. suddenly, my wrist felt free. it felt good!

i own 12 watches and many more straps. i love switching off. i just love the aesthetics of my watches. i didn't know what to make of my new feeling of, literally having been let out of prison. it continued today. i tried putting one on after i got back from the studio & had to take it off after about an hour.

watches & straps occupy large blocks of my time, of my waking hours.. now what? we'll see how it goes over the coming weeks, and i'll let you know. you may be able to pick up some gorgeous watches cheap. besides, who cares what time it is??

but how can this be? decades of watch obsession. gone in a morning? my guess is that i must free up my time and attention for something more important. that makes sense. i need time to process this. more tomorrow.

4:16 pm update: NO won, with 61% of the vote. the real work starts tuesday in paris. greece needs immediate support so it's banks don't collapse.in what is increasingly looking like a landslide victory for the "NO" vote supported by tsipras, head of the syriza party and prime minister of greece, the greek population has spoken. tomorrow will be a critical day in determining what this means for the future.

this morning, after determining that parade 46 is, in fact, resolved, i launched into the drawing for a companion painting, also 56x20." i'm working on getting the canvas stretched so i can begin painting tomorrow.

2:30 pm: the linen has been stretched. I should be able to begin painting first thing tomorrow. a record turnaround.
