4:18PM update: mikela paid a visit and gave some very good feedback, so i made a few more critical tweaks, which have significantly improved this painting.
2:35PM update: parade 32 may be complete. as usual i'll know when i walk into my studio tomorrow. if so, that will make 8 paintings in the larger format parade series that are completed and ready to be sent to houston, where they'll be shown in a solo exhibition in november. click on parade series, above to visit the parade series page.
11;15 AM UPDATE: ready to resume work on parade 32; a critical day in it's development.
below a shot of the studio before starting work this morning, some of the books i look at most, and me standing in front of my studio door in my new hat, purchased yesterday in salida, where we had gone for a doctors appointment. here in crestone, at 8,000 feet, the UV rays are intense, and i needed a big brimmed hat to protect me when we take our walks. it's very soft & flexible; ideal for travel.
and now, to work! pics of new stages of the painting as they become available.
